Ameriplan® FAQs (frequently asked questions about Ameriplan® USA)

Q) Is this a year-long contract, or can I quit any time?

A) This  is month by month. You can quit at any time. You can$300 grocery rebate either write a letter, send an email or a fax to Ameriplan® saying that you want to quit.

Q) Once I get started, how much help will I receive?
A) I’ll be your personal mentor and will help you every step of the way. We also have a great team training program, several training calls daily ,and 24/7 access to our amazing training site where we have put all of the tools that you need to be successful.

Q) Do I need a separate telephone line to work from home with your company?
A) No. A professional out going message is nice. Example:” Hi. You’ve reached the _______ household. No one is available to take your call. Please leave your name, number, and a brief message and we’ll get back to you as soon as possible. If this is in regards to Ameriplan®  benefits or becoming a business with Ameriplan® , ______ will contact you as soon as possible. Thank you.”
Actually, this is a true testimony that you do work from your home.

Q) Can I ‘test it out’ before I join?

A) You can attend every single training call we have before you join.  Call or email me for a special invite for you to test drive our training calls.

Q) I have dial-up. Can I still do this business?
A) Sure. I actually enroll many people when I’m away from my computer and just using my cell phone. Just print out a couple of the enrollment forms and keep them with you. You can fill them out manually and the next time you’re at your computer you can type in the application and submit it to Ameriplan. Or you can send them to your mybenefits.com site or your iboplus.com site to sign themselves up.

Q) Am I required to take out my own taxes or does the company do that?
A) Your earnings are reported on a 1099 form. If you’ve ever heard people say that a home based business is a great way to save money on taxes, they were right.

Q) Am I allowed to recruit any of my family as IBOs?
A) Absolutely. You can recruit them as members for the benefit plans as well.

Q) Why do I have to pay to work for AmeriPlan?
A) You should never pay someone to work for them. If you’re talking about a “job” over the internet you should never pay anyone.
I can’t think of any home based business that does not have a start up cost. With Ameriplan you can decide whether or not you want to pay the start up cost.  But a “business” is different than a “job” on the internet. Here are the differences:

1) You are not paid on a W2 form because you are not an Ameriplan  employee. You are paid on the 1099 form as an independent contractor. The 1099 form allows you to save a lot of money on your taxes by itemizing your business expenses.

2) You actually own the business. You can will it to your spouse or your children. It’s something that is actually yours.

3) I think of it this way: If you wanted to open up a bakery in your town you’d have certain costs associated with that business. You’d have no ‘name’ established for yourself, you’d have to probably use some sort of software to maintain your ‘backoffice’ so you can keep track of employees, and you might even buy server space so you can host a website for your business. All of these expenses add up. If you wanted to open up a McDonalds (or some other franchise that has a ‘name’ associated with it) you’d pay thousands of dollars in franchise fees a year. With Ameriplan you get your websites, training, a paperless office because Ameriplan takes care of all of that for you, and the day you start your business is already 17 years old and has a ‘name’ for itself. All of this is handled for you for just $50 a month.

4) If you choose to pay the start-up cost then you will receive an IBO kit with a $75 voucher to purchase marketing material from the company store; otherwise you can download everything you need from our eKit. This is so you can set up your entire home office with the supplies you need to get started. Even if your budget is tight, I’m sure you can see that in any business you’d need some money up front to get started.

Q) How do you advertise?
A) We cover this in our training calls, and I will work with you extensively on this. It all depends on how you want to advertise. You can do it locally or on a national level. I do mine on a national level using the internet.

Q) How much does it cost to do this business?
A) It’s $50 a month for your broker fee. With this fee you get your websites, training, and your entire household gets the dental, vision, prescription and chiropractic benefits as well as enrollment in a $2500 Accidental Death and Dismemberment Insurance Program. You also get access to Aplan Financial which can help you with Debt Solutions, Bankruptcy, & Foreclosure or just creating a budget for your family.

Q) How are the $50 monthly broker fees paid?
A) You can either have the fee drafted from a credit/debit card or from a checking/savings account. Once you start receiving your residual income checks Ameriplan will deduct the fee from your check and you’ll never see the fee again. Ameriplan drafts the fee on either the 3rd or the 18th of every month.

Q) I’m not very good with a computer. How do I set up my websites?
A) Its very straight forward. The website is already designed. You only have to supply a name for your website. I have lots of experience on the computer and have designed websites of my own in the past. I can help you with the computer no problem.

Q) Are there quotas to be an Ameriplan®  independent business owner? What if I want to go on vacation for a month?
A) It’s your business and you are the boss. There are no quotas so you can take a nice long vacation without worry. Actually this is YOUR business. It’s willable when you pass away. It’s nice to think that if your family is relying on your income and (God forbid) something happens, they will still get that income. This is also a great retirement program.

Q) How do we do taxes?
A) You will receive a 1099 form from Ameriplan. You’ll want to keep all of your receipts over the year - and I mean EVERY receipt! The nice thing about a home based business is that you can write off so much. Office supplies, your ISP, gas mileage (if I have to mail something at the post office I do all my errands around that and then I can write off all the mileage , but please  keep a mileage record in your car :- ), long distance, cell phone, etc. So, if you make $50,000 this year in your business and your receipts total $5,000 you have a gain of $45,000 and that is what you pay taxes on. You only have to pay federal and state taxes. There’s no medical, social security, FICA, … or anything like that. It’s treated as “additional income” like the interest on your savings account is.

Q) Are there costs to advertising?
A) There can be. We teach you how to do free advertising and inexpensive advertising. You can also pay money for advertising. For example:

Free) You can download fliers for church bulletin boards; word of mouth; talking to people you already know; free neighborhood newsletters; free places online to advertise; getting free leads from advertising agencies; the list goes on.

Inexpensive) 250 business cards for $5; brochures for 15 cents apiece; Inexpensive leads from advertising agencies (30-50 cents apiece).

Expensive) Paying an advertising agency to advertise for you. You can pay $.50-$4 apiece for a lead. BTW, a lead is someone’s contact information who answered an ad saying that they want someone to call them about a home based business or about benefits. You can also advertise online and that can be $5-$200+ a month or so depending upon which website you choose. Brokers just starting out do not go with the expensive advertising.

We encourage you to advertise for free or cheaply until your business is paying for itself. Then we encourage you to invest into your business and maybe buy more expensive advertising if you want.

Q) What if I enroll someone and they quit?
A) If they have X number of brokers that they enrolled then they are now yours. These people just roll up to you. As far as the residual income for your brokers that quit, you stop earning the $15 a month for them. You do earn the residual income for the brokers that roll up.

Q) What is the average amount of money a person earns while working about 10 hrs a week?
A) It always varies. If you consistently do 10 hours a week and it’s really work (i.e. making contacts, talking about Ameriplan and enrolling people) our part time brokers earn about $200 a week.

Q) Does the work come consistently or is it just here and there and you are lucky if you get enough work to get paid?
A) If you are consistently advertising you will consistently have people to talk to. You can also purchase contacts. You could purchase 10 contacts a week, 100 contacts a day, etc. Whatever you want.

Q) What exactly do you do with this company?
A) You contact people who have requested info about either the benefits or the work at home opportunity. We send out emails to these people, we call them, we go online and we enroll them. Ameriplan services the customers for us. For the brokers we enroll we make sure they are aware of the training calls ,we answer their questions for them, we spend time mentoring them and assisting them in building their business.

Q) Can you give me some examples of the type of work you do daily and what the compensation is?
A) People will be contacting you wanting more information through your advertising campaigns. I have no background in marketing and I’m doing very well with the company. We train you how to advertise. You can either do a local campaign or a national one (or both). You can advertise for yourself, or you can have someone advertise for you. Advertising may involve a budget. I started out with $0 for my budget each month for advertising and now my business profits pay for my advertising.

On a daily basis I reply to the requests by sending out emails and also by calling them. About 90% of my business is all done on the computer.

Member commissions range from $36-$108 per member (with a $6-$18 monthly residual). Broker commissions are $90 advance and $15 per month paid residually!   These commissions are sent out with in 24-72 hours.

Q) What are the requirements to get started?
A) You have to be committed to working a home business. I’m looking for serious people who can work a good 10 hours a week. You have to listen to the “New Broker” training call (there is a live call or a  recorded version) that is about 1.5 hours long - you do this from your home. You will need internet connection and long distance. When you enroll you’ll be expected to pay for your first month broker fees. You can pick either the 3rd or the 18th to be drafted for your monthly broker fee from a credit/debit card or a checking/savings account. Once your residual checks come in Ameriplan deducts this broker fee from your paycheck and you won’t see a draft again.

Q) I have been looking for something I could do from home since I have a 3 month old and would love to stay home with her. Any information you could give me would be appreciated.
A) We have a lot of stay-at-home mothers on this team. When the baby is napping you could easily call 5 people for 1 minute each and send out a couple of emails. Total time would be 20 minutes maybe. Then during the day you can call the people you’ve already sent emails to. The nice thing with this company is that you do not need to set aside a huge block of time - 20 minutes here, 10 minutes there, etc … really does pay off well.

Q) Besides  the $50/monthly IBO fee, are there any other costs?
A) You may have advertising costs (see above).

Q) I took a look at the providers in my area. Since there are not many providers here, would I still be able to do this business?
A) We do add providers to our list all the time. However, if there are not many providers in your area perhaps a national business using the internet would work better than a local business. I advertise on-line quite a bit. You could also just focus on being a recruiter for the company instead of working benefit memberships.

Q) I’m ready to get started. Now what?
A) You can either call me (preferred) and I can enroll you over the phone in just 5 minutes, or you can go to my website and click the tab  Join Now. You will need a credit/debit card or a checking/savings account to get started.

Q) Once I enroll what happens?
A) Your application will be sent to our corporate headquarters in Dallas, Texas for processing. It can take 24 hours to process your application form. Once the form is processed your broker kit will be overnighted to you and should arrive within 48 hours. Immediately after you enroll you will receive a “Welcome” email from me with detailed instructions. You do not need to wait until receiving your kit before getting to work, I will send a link to your eKit and you can start working immediately!
